The Explorer window () is the place to access and manage files in GenBeans. When opened for the first time, the Explorer only contains your home directory. You must add new directories to access files on your computer.

The first time you launch GenBeans, you must add new directories to the Explorer to access any files on your computer. Preferably, install the directories where your data and projects are stored. The next time you open GenBeans, these directories will allow you to access rapidly your important files.

Adding a new directory to the Explorer Window

1. Choose the menu Window > Explorer (Ctrl-1) to open the Explorer window.

2. Rich-click in the Explorer window and choose Add to Explorer.

3. Select the folder that you want to access and click OK.
